Tommy David - Mr. David moved to Statesboro in 1993. His affiliations include Certified Board Member of the Ogeechee Technical College Board of Directors; Past president of the Ogeechee Technical College Foundation, past president of the Technical College Foundation Association and the Technical College Directors Association. He also serves on the Georgia Fund for Technical and Adult Education and the Georgia Southern University Foundation Board of Trustees.

Mr. David is a volunteer for the United Way, Chairman of 2003-2004 Fund Drive; a member of Habitat for Humanity – Golden Hammer Award; March of Dimes, American Diabetes Society,
American Cancer Society, American Red Cross, Meals on Wheels

Mr. David is married to Karen Wright of Perry, Georgia. They have two children, Katie and Mollie.

Mr. David attended the University of Georgia and Louisiana State University School of Banking.

Eric Denty is editor of the Press Sentinel and President of the Altamaha Technical College Foundation. Mr. Denty continues to lead the Foundation in relationship building activities that strengthen Altamaha Technical College and the Foundation. Eric is a well-respected member of the community, serves on several local and state boards including the Georgia Holocaust Commission, Wayne County Sports Hall of Fame and Wayne County Partners in Education. Mr. Denty was named 2004 Business Leader of the year by the Wayne County Chamber of Commerce. The TCFA Executive Committee warmly welcomes Eric and looks forward to his support in helping to lead TCFA to even greater success and growth in the coming years.
Jennifer Dossman is presently a consultant with Central Fulton Senior Services, Inc. of Atlanta.  Ms. Dossman retired from Lucent Technologies of Norcross where she was responsible for business development and process design of business alternatives for Fortune 500 companies seeking to outsource their IT infrastructure.  She also served as Program Manager of Olympic Venues and developed a $5 million business plan and project managed tactical plan to manage delivery of Lucent’s IT services platform during the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games.
                                      
Jennifer formerly was an account executive for A T & T, during which she received A T & T’s Sales Vice President Award ‘Best of the Best Outstanding Sales Performance” award.

Ms. Dossman graduated from Spellman College, Cum Laude with a BS Degree.  She has served on the Atlanta Technical College Foundation Board since 2002. She also serves on the Metro Atlanta Chapter of the Red Cross advisory board.

Harold E. Mitchell, Sr.

Harold is a retired Agency Executive with State Farm Insurance. Harold began his career with State Farm Insurance on January 10th, 1968, in Chicago, Illinois. Harold was as claim adjustor, then moved to positions as claim supervisor, claim superintendent, agent, agency manager, agency director, agency field executive, and retiring as a zone assistant. He moved to Winter Haven, Florida in 1988, and then to Atlanta in 1991. Harold retired in August, 2005.

Harold graduated from Southern Illinois University in 1967 with a degree in Marketing. He has served as the vice president of membership for the 100 Black Men of Atlanta, and is now on the Board of Directors. He served on the Board of Atlanta Technical College for 5 years, the last 3 years as Chairman of the Foundation Board. Harold is also a retired NCAA Football official. He worked in the Big Ten Conference for 10 years, before relocating to Florida, later becoming a football official in the SEC for 12 years. He served as the 1st Black head referee in the SEC. He worked the 1987 Rose Bowl, the 1985 and 1995 Gator Bowl, the 1994 Orange Bowl, and 2 SEC Championship games. Harold currently is a technical advisor in the Southwestern Athletic Conference, along with being a "replay official" in the ACC.

Harold has been married to Victoria for 38 years. They have two sons, Harold, Jr, and Kevin Sr. [Dr Michelle Mitchell]. Harold and Victoria have 2 grandsons, Harold III and Kevin Jr.

Frank (Chunk) Newman is Senior Project Manager at Batson-Cook Company.  He served on the West Georgia Technical College Board of Directors for 10 years; and on the Foundation Board of Trustees  for 11 years.    Frank is past TCFA president and played a critical role in the  formation of the Association in 1998.

Frank has been a member of the LaGrange Rotary Club for 23 years and has served as past-president.  He is currently Trustee of the Georgia Rotary Student Program; a member of the American Heart Association, LaGrange Chapter; and a charter member of the Board of the Boys and Girls Clubs.

Joseph J. Rogers

Joseph J. Rogers is a retired executive from Procter & Gamble and an advocate for technical education. Joe became involved with technical education in the early 1980’s serving on the President’s Advisory Council. In 1987, Joe was named Chairman of the College’s Board of Directors, a role which he excelled for nearly ten years.

In 1990, Joe distinguished himself as a founding member of the Georgia Technical Institutes Board Association which is now recognized as TCDA. When Joe’s term expired, he was honored by the DTAE State Board for his years of service and commitment.

Joe also serves on the College’s Foundation Board of Trustees. He has been a true advocate for technical education. He challenged Procter and Gamble’s matching grants policy that funded only four-year colleges and as a result, we are now eligible for matching grant monies from one of the area’s largest employers---Procter and Gamble.

In 2001, Joe was recognized by the Augusta Association of Fundraising Professionals as the Outstanding Volunteer of the Year. He is also a past recipient of the United Way’s Alexis de Tocqueville Award presented by President Gerald Ford and Screen Actor Gregory Peck. Joe is a past Silver Medal Award winner from the Augusta Advertising Federation; Boss of the Year from the North Augusta Professional Secretaries International; and the 1st Brevit Colonel Award from Fort Gordon.

In 2005, Joe received the Technical College Foundation Association’s Volunteer of the Year award for his body of work with the technical education system. Joe was elected to the TCFA Executive Committee in 2006 and looks forward to helping advance the mission of technical education in Georgia.

Joe volunteers his time with various organizations including the Executive Committee of the University Health Care Foundation. He is a two time past Chairman of Paine College’s United Negro College Fund Campaign; past Chairman of the United Way of the CSRA’s Community Campaign; past President of Fort Gordon’s AUSA Chapter and a 6 year Regional President for AUSA. Joe is also a veteran having served in World War II and the Korean War from 1945 to 1951.

Joe is happily married to his wife, Chip, and they enjoy spending their time with family and traveling.

Bill Sanders - Bill hails from Barnesville, Georgia and has been Manager of the Gainesville District Jackson Electric Membership Corporation since 1993. He has formerly held positions as Western District Manager and Member of Financial Services at Walton EMC in Snellville and Electrification Advisor at Lamar EMC in Barnesville.

Bill is a graduate of Gordon Military High School and Gordon Military Junior College in Barnesville. He has a B.S. in Science/Business Administration from West Georgia College in Carrollton.

He has been a trustee on the Lanier Technical College Board since 2001 and president of the Technical College Foundation Association from 2002-2003. His business achievements include the Sam Walton Business Leader Award in 1998, and the PSI Executive of the Year in 1994.

Bill has been affiliated with the Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce as Chairman in 1997 and serves on the Executive Board. He was Vice-Chairman of the South Hall Council/Hall Together and a member of the Gainesville Rotary Club. He has been co-chairman of the Hallmark Initiative since 1993. Past affiliations include serving on the Executive Board of the Northeast Georgia Council Boy Scouts of America; as Director of the Snellville Rotary Club; President of the South Gwinnett Rotary Club; and various positions on the Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce; Director of the American Cancer Society; and member of the Snellville Commerce Club; Chairman of the Gwinnett Utility Association; President of GEMC Office Manager Association; President of the Monroe-Walton Civitan Club; Vice-President of the Gwinnett Toastmasters; Treasurer of the Snellville Exchange Club; Secretary-Treasurer of the Lamplighters of Georgia; Treasurer of the Barnesville Jayees; and member of the Rehoboth Baptist Church.

Lanie Shipp is the President of Lanie Shipp & Associates, a management and marketing agency. Ms. Shipp started LSA in 1989 with a focus on community services. During the past 12 years, LSA has broadened its scope to include political campaigns, public initiatives and association management.

In 1995, LSA began working with community leaders to establish a self-taxing district for transportation improvements in the Town Center, Cobb County area. The district was established in 1997. Since that time, LSA has focused its scope of service mainly on the efforts to support transportation improvements through the public/private partnership of the Town Center Area Community Improvement District.

Susan Stephens holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Shorter College in Rome, Georgia.
Ms Stephens is very involved in her community.  She served as Lt. Governor for Zone 2 Georgia with the Optimist Club 2004-2005, past -President of the Cartersville Noon Optimist Club three terms, presently serving as Treasurer, Active member for 34 years and serves as Treasurer of Laureate Alpha Gamma Sorority of Beta Sigma Phi, a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) Volunteer, Chair of the North Metro Technical College Foundation, and a member of the Cartersville Bartow Chamber of Commerce.  Ms. Stephens serves on the Executive Board of TCFA (Technical College Foundation Association), a statewide organization of technical college foundation trustees.
Owner of Susan Stephens Designs, Susan started her business in July 2000 and specializes in interior design for private homes. Susan brings over 30 years of work experience to her business.  She is a partner in CleanWater Management Services located in Cartersville.

The goal of Susan Stephens Designs is to enhance the beauty of the client’s home using any and/or all of the following: color selection, room arrangement, accessories, floral arrangements, window treatments, or furniture selections. She believes that the client’s personal style and taste should be reflected in the final product.  All services and custom designs are unique to individual client needs. Visual Merchandising, for businesses is an additional service offered.

Ms. Stephens is married to Ronald C. Mehl.  Ms. Stephens has three grown children: a married daughter, Allison Nelson and son-in- law, George Nelson; a married son, Michael Stephens, Jr. and wife, Lisa Stephens, and son, Matthew Stephens. She is the proud Grandmommie to five grandchildren; grandsons, Davis Nelson, Trey Stephens, and Ryan Eller and two granddaughters, Katie Nelson and Elizabeth Susan Nelson.

John Strelec is a native of Tarentum, PA, a suburb of Pittsburgh. His wife Sophia is a a retired teacher. They have two children, a sDaughter Ann Beth Rutkowsk, who is also a teacher in her 13th year, and a son John, Jr. who is a businessman. John is an active member of St. Mary On The Hill Catholic Church.

John taught for seven years in the Pittsburgh area public schools earth and space science, physical science and was a planetarium director.

John moved to Augusta in June 1965 where he served in the Richmond County School System for thirty years as an elementary principal, middle school principal, assistant high school principal, and high school principal. He was appointed superintendent in 1983 and served until June 1995 when he retired.

He has been active in many civic and professional organizations and is currently serving as a foundation member at Augusta Technical College. John enjoys hunting, fishing, golfing, reading and traveling.

Mark Whitlock is a Foundation Trustee with West Central Technical College. Mark is the CEO of Central Educational Center (CEC). CEC, Georgia’s “model program for seamless education”, was developed by local Chamber leaders, the Coweta County School System and West Central Technical College. More than 400 groups from around Georgia, across the US, and from fifteen other nations have visited CEC to study this model for change in education. CEC was recently designated one of 30 “model” programs in the United States. Mark is leading the CEC replication team, including the Academy for Educational Development (AED) and Florida State University (FSU) researchers, to assist other communities to begin a “CEC.”

Mark is one of seven original mentors with Arizona State University’s (West Campus) innovative Leadership for Educational Entrepreneurs (LEE) program. This Master’s Degree (Education) blends M.Ed. and MBA curricula to train leaders who will positively impact student learning, maintain financial responsibilities, and thrive in an increasingly market-based system for America’s schools. The first program of its kind in the U.S., LEE impacts schools and students in 38 states and in the District of Columbia.

Mark received the B.S.Ed. (cum laude) and the M.Ed. from the University of Georgia. He received the MBA from Georgia State University. For eighteen years, Mark worked with Bank of America. During his final 15 years with the Bank, Mark built correspondent and commercial banking relationships, developed and managed new services in Global Investment Banking, and helped to build the new Global Investment Bank resulting from the merger between NationsBank and the original Bank of America

Bill Wiley, a retired executive, has served as a member and Chairman of the Board of Directors of DTAE. Having served on the state board level, Bill understands the financial issues of the colleges’ mission to meet the workforce development of their local community. Active in the central Georgia community, Bill has served on various professional and civic boards including local and state Chambers of Commerce. He has corporate connections not only in central Georgia but also throughout the state.
